Assumed Business Names, Amendments, and Withdrawals will need to be printed here and mailed to Beaufort County Register of Deeds, PO Box 514, Washington, NC 27889 (with a check or money order) or brought to the Register of Deeds Office.
The recording fee for an Assumed Name is $26.00 for the first 15 pages. If the Assumed Name is more than 15 pages, the fee is $4.00 for each additional page. After recording, our office will return the original document the next business day. Online filing will constitute an additional charge due to convenience and processing fees.
BEFORE YOU REGISTER:
Check the business name in the grantor index or select "Document Type" and check "Assumed Name" to make sure no one else is using the business name that you have selected. This is located under "Real Estate" on the Register of Deeds website.
