The Facilities Division of the Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and ground work for twenty County owned buildings. It is the goal of the Division to provide a safe, clean working environment for fellow County employees, Beaufort county residents as well as visitors. Various independent contractors are utilized to achieve this goal.
Duties of the Facilities Division include:
Responsible for maintaining the electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems in operational order
Responsible for implementing a preventive maintenance program for all systems
Responsible for remodeling projects including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, grounds work, etc.
Responsible for the cleaning of the buildings and trash removal
