The Facilities Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance and ground work for twenty County owned buildings. It is the goal of the Division to provide a safe, clean working environment for fellow County employees, Beaufort county residents as well as visitors. Various independent contractors are utilized to achieve this goal.
Duties of the Facilities Maintenance Division include:
Responsible for maintaining the electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems in operational order
Responsible for implementing a preventive maintenance program for all systems
Responsible for remodeling projects including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, grounds work, etc.
Responsible for the cleaning of the buildings and trash removal
